One year after Sandy, three residents of Rockaway Beach, a neighborhood on the barrier peninsula of New York City which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy, tell their stories of what happened. Furthermore, they paint a vivid picture of their rapidly recovering neighborhood with a budding cultural life, an active surfer community that helped save lives, growing businesses, and the thing they all passionately share: their love for the ocean.
