The Tenth Voice (LGBTQIA)
The Tenth Voice is the Kansas City area's only weekly broadcast created by and for LGBTQIA+ people in our community in the Greater Kansas City area and around the world online. Listeners can tune in each Saturday at 1:00 PM. Each week our team of hosts and producers present interviews, information, music, news and features especially important to Lesbians, Gay Men, Bisexuals, Transgender & Nonbinary people, Queer, Intersex, Asexual & Aromantic people and Allied collective communities. Since 1989, The Tenth Voice radio show has documented and informed the LGBTQIA+ Kansas City Community.
In a special two-part book club, host Elizabeth Andersen talks with authors Hilary Zaid and Molly Krause. Set in ebullient, 1990s Dot-com era San Francisco, Hilary’s Paper Is White is a novel about the gravitational pull of thepast and the words we must find to make ourselves whole.In her memoir Float On, Molly shares her early experiences of growing up in a biracial family, having a gay father die from AIDS, family struggles with mental illness and substance abuse,and, ultimately, great lessons about love.
