Sister Marches – Europe

On January 21, 2017, while women held a vast resistance march in Washington, DC, 673 Sister Marches also took place over all 7 continents, an estimated total number of over 5 million people. It has been hailed as the largest global gathering for human rights and justice in history.

Seeing this as a seminal point in our shared history, WINGS commissioned reporters in a variety of places around the globe. This week we present reports from Europe: Brussels – the Headquarters of the European Union, London – which had the biggest March outside of the States, and Amsterdam – where it was a family affair.

Amsterdam March Organiser Ashley Cowles was interviewed by Mindy Ran; anonymous or partially-identified voices of women and men were interviewed and recorded by Sister reporters.
