A locally produced program where activist groups in the Kansas City area present interviews, commentary, editorials, and other thought provoking content on a weekly basis.
Join host Mike Nickells as he interviews three members of SPARK (Senior Peers Actively Renewing Knowledge) and discuss the organization’s mission, history, class schedule, and the fine work they do in the greater Kansas City area: Jan Parks, Rene Goldman (former board member), and Bill Wright (former president). SPARK’s philosophy is to provide, at modest cost, learning and fun social experiences for participants. There are no prerequisites, tests or grades for classes. Instructors are members or volunteers who have a strong interest in a particular topic. SPARK partners with the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC.) This allows SPARK to have an LLI in a collegiate environment supported by the intellectual and cultural resources of the university.
