Pastor Donna Simon of St Mark Hope and Peace Lutheran Church, 3801 Troost, tells the story of her journey as a lesbian woman serving as a pastor for an urban Lutheran church. St Mark is well known in the progressive community for its support of such organizations as Stand Up KC, Fight for $15, SURJ (Stand Up for Racial Justice) and CCO (Communities Creating Opportunities).
