St Patrick’s Day Preview

Mark & Val start the show off with some commentary about St Patrick’s Day music, and segue into sets about drinking, roving, relationships, Irish nationalism, and the voyage to the end of the world.

Ruby Murray kicks us off with ‘It’s a Great Day for the Irish’, Robby O’Connell will expound on the joys of being an Irish singer on tour in America, and Christy Moore will do an extraordinarily eerie version of the great lament ‘Danny Boy’.

Then we’ll slide into the rest of the show. We’ll drink with the Voice Squad, Altan, John Roberts & Tony Barrand, and The Dubliners w/Ronnie Drew. We’ll go a rovin’ with DeDannan, Cillian Vallely and Kevin Crawford, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, and Planxty.  Jarlath Henderson, Donal Lunny/Jimmy Foster, Charlie Lennon, and Delores Keane & John Faulkner will sing about relationships. We’ll have an interlude with Andy Mcgann and Oisin; touch on Irish Nationalism with The Bothy Band, Jimmy Crowley, the Dubliners/Jim McCann, Andy Irvine, Frank Hart & Donal Lunny, and the Chieftans. And, finally, we’ll take a voyage to the end of the world with Daoiri Farrell, Christy Moore, and Turlach Boylan.
