The Bradcast with Brad Friedman

Rep. Ted Deutch [D-FL] on Democratic U.S. House ‘sit-in’ for a vote on gun legislation.

U.S. House Democrats roared back to life just before noon today in Washington D.C., as civil rights icon Rep. Ted Deutch of Florida joins us on today’s ‘BradCast’ to explain what members are hoping to do, and how long they intend to stay there to do it. He also has a word or two for House Republicans who, he says, have ordered the C-SPAN cameras and microphones shut off, even as fellow members use cell phones to stream video of their ‘occupation’ of the House which has been gaveled into recess due to the protest. Deutch says Dems intend to continue the protest overnight, if necessary, until they either get a vote or the Sergeant-at-Arms ‘drag us off the House floor’.
