Local Showcase
The Local ShowCase features live or recorded performances of music, poetry, prose, etc. of local and regional artists. This showcase is hosted by a variety of KKFI programmers covering a broad spectrum of musical genres.
Thursday evening, the Local Showcase is being taken over by Diego Chi of Making Movies to present a preview of the group’s upcoming festival at Knuckleheads. The radio show will feature live performances from Kansas City Latino artist Abel Ullon (www.abel-ullon.com), MUSICA Project students Humberto Garcia and Regina del Carmen, and Making Movies (www.mkngmvs.com).
The Making Movies Carnaval is a cultural arts and music block party, bringing Kansas City residents and their families together to share an appreciation for alternative Latino arts. This year the festival will be headlined by GRAMMY winning artist, Ozomatli from Los Angeles. The event will take place on Sunday, October 5 at Knuckleheads Saloon.
