The Rails are running. The Rails are Kamila Thompson (Daughter of Richard and Linda Thompson) and James Walbourne (former guitarist for hire with Son Volt, Pernice Bros, Pretenders, Jerry Lee Lewis etc). The two voices naturally fall into country / folk harmonies a la Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris or Richard and Linda Thompson. The overall sound is delicate and beautiful traditional English folk which harks back to the seminal releases on Island’s pink label – John Martyn and Fairport Convention mixed with pop sensibilities and an articulate modern sheen.
