WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service is an all-woman independent radio production company that produces and distributes news and current affairs programs by and about women around the world.
Today on WINGS, it’s the second installment of The Second Coming of Joan of Arc, written and performed by Carolyn Gage.
About the play:
In 1431, a 19-year-old French girl named Jeanne Rome was burned at the stake. Her story has frequently been re-told, but this version convincingly portrays her as a young butch lesbian who only when it’s too late understands the total ingratitude of the patriarchy.
