From the WINGS archives, Dheera Sujan of Radio Netherlands’ Vox Humana project interviews Irshad Manji, author of the book The Trouble With Islam Today. Manji references the Islamic tradition of diligence in scholarly inquiry known as ijtahad, and also contrasts views of Muslims in North America and Europe.

Irshad Manji is a Canadian scholar and author now teaching at New York University, and also founder and president of Project Ijtihad, a charitable organization that offers free, 24/7 advising to young Muslims struggling with faith. Manji is openly gay.
