“The Tasty Brew” is an eclectic mix of roots music formed by the shared and varied traditions that make up the American musical melting pot.
Well the last week and a half has been one of the most amazing whirlwinds of live music ever starting with Willie Nelson at the Performing Arts Center, Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Merle Haggard and Samantha Fish at Knuckleheads, John Hiatt at The Uptown and Lyle Lovett at Johnson County Community College’s Yardley Hall! The icing on the cake was yesterday’s Benefit for Tom Hall at Knuckleheads Saloon featuring The Samantha Fish Band, Kelley Hunt and Trampled Under Foot. Over 1100 people attended and they had to shut it down and turn people away. Simply an unbelievable day for Kansas City’s Local Music scene honoring my friend Tom Hall who we hope is back on stage again real soon. This week’s Tasty Brew will feature those artists headlining the Benefit for Tom Hall and next week’s Walnut Valley Music Festival aka Winfield.
