Sprouts Radio from the Grassroots is a 30-minute weekly program featuring radio programs produced at community radio stations or by other independent producers from across the country and sometimes around the world.
In memory of the wounded Iraq veteran, Tomas Young, who died on November 10, 2014, Sprouts rebroadcasts an interview with Young, submitted by Tom Klammer, host to “Tell Somebody” at KKFI, Kansas City, Missouri. Klammer submitted this Sprouts edition in March, 2007 after he visited Tomas at his home and recorded his story: how he joined the Army, how he ended up in Iraq, and his speaking out against the war.
