Vantage Point: Band of the Week

Tune in to this week’s Under the Radar, where host John Todd will be reintroducing Scottish metal band Vantage Point to KC audiences. Twice voted “Scotland’s Best New Metal Band”, they are celebrating the 5th anniversary of their debut CD Daredevil on the Shore this month. Make sure you’re locked in from 10PM-12AM to hear tracks from this amazing group!

About the band (from Reverb Nation):

Vantage Point are a Scottish Heavy Metal band who played their first gig in 2004. In 2008 they released the 13 track album, Daredevil On The Shore, which included many songs that had become staples of their live set of the previous years, including Motor Man, Gemma Gemini, 24 Hour Breakdown & Gripped By The Throat.

The following year was the release of the Driller Killer EP, which contained three new songs, Stunned, Shetlamb Driller Killer and Stressed Out, along with alternative versions of 24 Hour Breakdown & Motor Man.

2011 saw the release of the second album, Tomb Of The Eagles, a more diverse set of songs than the first album, ranging from the trash influenced title track to the hard rock of Obedience School, along with the juddering riffage of Global Delay and the Maiden-esqu gallop through the Clint Eastwood inspired, High Plains Drifter.

2012 sees the band working on the third album, which will be their first concept release, with an EP previewing the first tracks from this due before the end of the year.
