Local Showcase
The Local ShowCase features live or recorded performances of music, poetry, prose, etc. of local and regional artists. This showcase is hosted by a variety of KKFI programmers covering a broad spectrum of musical genres.
Nicolette Paige, Bob & Diana Suckiel, and Street Level Uprising will perform live.
Guests will also include Ondrea Lapadino a student at Alta Vista Charter School and member of Latinos of Tomorrow and Chloe Asbury, a student at Olathe Northwest High School. Ondrea and Chloe participated in the American Friends Service Committee’s “If I Could Change the World” spoken word project. The project was developed to engage high school-aged youth and to help them to think about and create spoken word poetry envisioning the world they want. The project will work with school and youth groups next year and youth from the project with perform at the June 7th First Friday Visions of Peace at the Crossroads Festival at 1811 Baltimore, KCMO.
