A Warrior Against The War On Drugs – Dean Becker Tells How And Why

Dean Becker started his career in law enforcement as a military policeman and continued as a police officer once he returned to civilian life. Since 2002 he has been a member of and speaker for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition LEAP now named Law Enforcement Action Partnership. He also produces the 420 Drug War News as well as the Unvarnished Truth out of KPFT in Houston, a Pacifica Network Community Radio Station.

“For decades, Dean Becker has given himself over to the cause of sane and sensible drug policies. In ‘To End the War on Drugs’, he explains his passion for reform, and tells us why he’s been willing to make sacrifice after sacrifice to end this country’s disastrous drug war. Along the way, we hear from scores of reformers (and more than a few apologists for U.S. drug policy). But it is Dean’s voice that comes through loud and clear as he makes a strong, compelling case for an end to the War on Drugs.”
– Seattle Police Chief (Ret) Norm Stamper.

Host David Bell will talk with Dean Becker about his book To End The War On Drugs: A Guide For Politicians, The Press and Public, the radio shows he produces that inform people about the War on Drugs, how it has failed our society, what role it plays in the prison Industrial complex and alternatives to present policy. You too will have the opportunity to chime in by calling 816-93-5534 during the broadcast.
