Based on Federico Fellini’s semi-autobiographical film “8 ½”, the musical NINE focuses on celebrated filmmaker Guido Contini, facing a midlife crisis, and without a subject for his newest film, he feels heightened pressure from the women in his life. Nine contains the music and lyrics of Maury Yeston. The book is by Arthur Kopit. Originally directed and choreographed by Tommy Tune, NINE won Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Original Score in 1982, and Best Revival of a Musical in 2003.
