Mark plays New & MidCoastal Releases from: Golden Groves, Dean Monkey & The Dropouts, Tread Lightly, Westerners, Sara Swenson, Calvin Arsenia, Run With It, Schwervon!, Shortsweather, Betse & Clarke, Fullbloods, John Velghe and the Prodigal Sons, Cameron Johnson, Keaton Conrad, The Host Country, Roxi Copland, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Jill Scott.
At 10:30 Mark talks with Milwaukee, Wisconsin based singer/songwriter Roxi Copland, who plays the Kansas City area on Tuesday, July 11, at 7:30 at InterUrban ArtHouse, 8010 Conser Street, Overland Park, Kansas. Also joining us is Wolfe Brack Director of Operations at InterUrban ArtHouse, and Joy Baker a multi-media artist and owner of Createful Studios, LLC. She is a full time artist who has studio space at InterUrban ArtHouse. Formed in 2011, the nonprofit organization, InterUrban ArtHouse recently purchased the old post office at 8010 Conser St., across from the former church basement they’ve been using. At 11:15, Kathryn Golden joins us to share information about the 4th Annual PorchFest KC, October 14, 2017, in Midtown, KCMO, from Noon to 5:00 PM. This year’s Porchfest will again be in the Valentine neighborhood, but also in the Old Hyde Park and Roanoke neighborhoods. We’ll play music from three participating musical artists in this year’s festival: from Rogers, Arkansas – Cameron Johnson, from Kansas City – Keaton Conrad, and from Des Moines, Iowa – The Host Country. Registration is now open for bands wanting to apply. All genre welcomed. All performances are 60 minute sets. Performances are acoustic or near-acoustic. The goal is to be heard to the sidewalk, not down the street. This is an all-ages, alcohol free event. Registration is now open at www.porchfestkc.com.
