Wednesday MidDay Medley plays The Midcoast Sound. We’ll feature tracks from some of our favorite mid-coast releases of the last 6 months from: Your Friend, Brooke Tuley, Kodascope, Josh Berwanger, Shy Boys, The Quivers, Diverse, My Brothers & Sisters, Kristie Stremel, The Bad Ideas, The Lucky, Red Kate, The Philistines, Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, The ACB’s, and Little Dragon.

At 10:30, poet and writer Jen Harris joins Mark for a very special “Gemini Moment.” Jen will share an original poem about being a gemini. Jen hosts the Pound Slam, presented by Poetic Underground. It is the first certified poetry slam in Kansas City, every First Wednesday, at 9:00 pm, at The Uptown Arts Bar, 3611 Broadway, with a $100 cash prize for first place. $5 cover. At 11:15, Mike Tipton joins us to share new music from his new band, Kodascope. Matthew Hayden on drums, percussion; Justin Skinner on percussion, drums; Michael Tipton on vocals, guitar; Ashleigh Guthrie on keyboards; Brent Jamison on bass; and Andy Kirk on guitar, make up the band Kodascope and will play the recordBar, 1020 Westport Rd., Thursday, June 5, at 10:00 pm, with the electro pop sounds of Ontario’s Parallels.
