Wednesday MidDay Medley Plays More Local Music & New Releases from: The Philistines, SoundsGood, Malachy Papers, Joc Max, Barclay Martin Ensemble, Schwervon!, Of Montreal, Kishi Bashi, Janelle Monae, John Legend, Laura Mvula, Blind Willie Johnson, Meshell Ndegeocello, Rob Jungklas, Beyoncé, Fastball, Nyle, and Wayne Brady.

At 10:15 Mark talks with Kaite Stover – Director of Readers’ Services at The Kansas City Public Library. Kaite joins us to discuss: “Books to go with your favorite TV Shows: House of Cards, Downton Abbey, True Detective, and Walking Dead.” More info at www.kclibrary.org

At 10:30 Mark talks with Nathan Reusch co-founder of The Record Machine, and the brainchild of INK’s Middle of the Map Fest, April 3 – 5. Nathan joins us to talk more about this year’s line-up of musical artists for the festival! We’ll play music from featured bands and headliners of this year’s festival. At 11:00, writer and poet Crystal Boson joins us as “Guest Producer” for our second hour. Crystal Boson is irrepressible, crafty, and really into Afro-Futurism and Black Sci-Fi. She has been previously published in Callaloo, Pank, The Black Bottom, and has two chapbooks, “The Icarus Series” and “The Queer Texas Prayerbook” with Seven Kitchens Press. She is also currently working on her new collection, “Kansas Up South”. Her work focuses on the intersections of blackness, queerness, femme-ness and the everyday horror and beauty of the way those intertwine. When not doing that, she’s finishing up her dissertation on Hoodoo in the Department of American Studies at KU.

Crystal will be moving to Corvallis, Oregon in the fall, where she will be working in the WGSS department at Oregon State University. She currently resides in Lawrence, KS with her Kitchenaid Stand Mixer, her partner, and her cat, Ms. Delphina Jenkins Boson Lease III.
