At 10:15 Theatre director and teacher, David Luby, joins us with students from the Paseo Academy For the Performing Arts in Kansas City, who just completed a four day writing workshop where they wrote and recorded live radio dramas. On Friday, June 12, at 7:00 pm these students will present these recordings and also perform live, at the Heartland Forum, at Crown Center, for The Mark Time Awards, the most prominent awards worldwide for original radio drama. The Mark Time Awards are part of the HEAR Now: The Audio Fiction and Arts Festival. More info at http://hearnowfestival.org

At 10:30 Mark talks with Lily Tomlin who during her 40-year career has won two Tonys, two Peabodys, six Emmys, a Grammy, the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards, The Mark Twain Prize for American humor, and recently was one of five honorees with Al Green, Tom Hanks, Patricia McBride, and Sting, for the annual Kennedy Center Honors. Lily Tomlin has made 18 films and was nominated for an Oscar for her debut in Robert Altman’s “Nashville.” Tomlin lives in Los Angeles with her partner, writer Jane Wagner. Lily Tomlin is the star of the new Netflix Series, Grace and Frankie, co-starring Jane Fonda, with Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston. Lily Tomlin, will be appearing in Kansas City at The Muriel Kauffman Theatre at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Saturday, June 13, at 7:30 PM. At 11:00 Mark talks with guitarist, bassist, keyboard player, singer, songwriter, and teacher, Tyson Leslie, who has been a part of the KC music scene for over 20 years, playing in many KC bands including: Pomeroy, 90Minutes, and Simplexity. Tyson is an instructor at Music House School of Music, and has worked for nearly 5 years at Howl at The Moon KC, singing, playing piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Tyson has played on stage with Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Gavin DeGraw, Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big, Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge, Rod Stewart, and most recently has toured with Red Line Chemistry opening for Whitesnake. Tyson Leslie and wife Star Stanton are moving to Nashville this summer. On Friday June 12, at 7:00 pm, Music House School of Music presents An Evening With Tyson Leslie, at 7465 West 161st St. Overland Park, KS. Tyson Leslie plays Knuckleheads Saloon, at 2715 Rochester, KCMO, Sunday, June 14, at 6:30 pm, for Tyson Leslie’s Farewell Super Jam with a cavalcade of solo artists and former bandmates. Tyson Leslie will also play a special Pomeroy Reunion at VooDoo Lounge at Harrah’s Casino, North Kansas City, KCMO on Friday, July 31, at 8:00 pm.

At 11:30 musician, guitarist, and singer, Ian Teeple, along with bassist, Brendan Dulohery, and drummer, Frazier Krohn of the band The Fog, joins us for a conversation and to play a few songs live. Ian Teeple also plays with Sneaky Creeps, Metatone, Quadrigarum, and Yuck Ratz. In March The Fog released, The Fog On Tour In America, a demos compilation, with singles B-sides.
