At 10:00, Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear return to Wednesday MidDay Medley for their 4th appearance in 14 months. They will perform live in our 90.1 FM Studios. This modern soulful folk duo was the buzz of the Crossroads Music Festival and have caught the attention of the local music scene with stellar performances this past spring and summer at Unity Temple, Davey’s Uptown, recordBar, Coda, Westport Saloon, and The Buffalo Room. The’ve also recently played shows in St. Louis, Joplin, and Muscle Shoals, Alabama, opening for Phosphorescent. At 10:35 Mark welcomes members of the Kansas City based band, The Sexy Accident. Led by guitarist and singer/songwriter Jesse Kates, the band decided to release their fifth LP, Lavender 3, as a hardback book. There will be a Book/Album release show on October 4, at 7:00 pm , at the Buffalo Room. This FREE, all-ages, cabaret-style soirée will include Tulsa’s Kalyn Barnoski and Rachel La Vonne opening the show at 8:00 pm, followed by The Sexy Accident at 9:00 pm. The room itself will mesmerize as animator Galadriel Thompson of DarkHeart Girlfriends Club projects her visions on unfurled bolts of muslin. Paintings by Steph Toth Kates Art will also be displayed. At 11:00 Artist Joey Grimm returns to Wednesday MidDay Medley as guest DJ. Joey has been living, working, teaching, creating in Brooklyn, New York City. Joey was born in Kansas City, after receiving his BFA from the Kansas City Art institute in 2010, he was awarded a scholarship to attend the Masters of Fine Arts program at the University of Delaware where he is researched and produced kinetic sculpture.
