We celebrate The Pride Season with our annual show, “That’s Soooo Fabulous!” Mark spins music from: Liberace, Charles Nelson Reilly, Paul Lynde, Jim Nabors, Noel Coward, RuPaul, Grace Jones, Dos Fallopia, Judy Garland, Al Franken, Lily Tomlin, David Bowie, Anohni, Lou Reed, John Cale, Betty Who, Frenchie Davis, The Smiths, Arc Flash, Claire Adams and The Classical Revolution, and the Broadway casts of “Hello Dolly,” “Falsettos,” “A Chorus Line,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” and ”How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” plus the film soundtracks to “Bambi,” ”Hedwig & The Angry Inch,” “Stuart Save His Family,” and “Sordid Lives.”
We’ll feature music from Broadway shows featured on one of the most diverse awards shows of the year, The 71st Annual Tony Awards. This year’s Tony Awards will take place on June 11. Hosted by Kevin Spacey, the ceremony will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York, and will be televised live on CBS.
At 10:30, Mark talks with Bill Svoboda, Festival Director for Kansas City Pride Fest, June 2, 3, & 4, at Berkley Riverfront Park, KCMO. Friday features emcee Dirty Dorothy with DJ Chef Nguyen, Marerial Girl, Citizen Jane, and Men of Skin. Saturday features emcee Widow Von’du and emcees: Flo & Melinda Ryder with The Heartland Men’s Chorus, Transfinite KC, , KC Sunshine, Mayor Sly James, Well-Strung and Betty Who.
