Music of The 10th Annual Crossroads Music Festival
+ “Water Is Food” + Katy Guillen & The Girls

Mark features more music from bands participating in the 10th Annual Crossroads Music Festival, Saturday, September 6, 6:00 to 3:00am at Crossroads KC at Grinder’s and area venues. This year’s fest includes seven stages and over 40 artists/bands, two record label showcases, and the KCVLAA Legal Bootcamp for Musicians. More info at www.cmfkc.com.

We’ll hear music from Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, Onward Crispin Glover, Hipshot Killer, Me Like Bees, Danny Krause, and Mikal Shapiro. We’ll also spin new music from Prince, Katy Guillen & The Girls, Mount Veritas Orchestra, and classic music from the Breeders.

At 10:15 Mũcũgũ Wahome and musicians from Mount Veritas Orchestra, and Metatone join us to share new recordings and live performances from “Water Is Food” a recording to benefit: Water.org and Cultivate Kansas City. We’ll premiere music from “IRIO,” the Food Album. (Music from the “MAJI” the Water Album premiered on River Trade Radio, Aug. 31.) Also joining us will be, Ami Freeberg of Cultivate KC. Gamelan Genta Kasturi, Mount Veritas Orchestra, and Metatone collaborated together for this special project. The “Water Is Food” FREE Concert, is Saturday, September 6, 7:00pm at The City Market, Kansas City.

At 11:15 Katy Guillen & the Girls return to Wednesday MidDay Medley to share music from their brand new eponymous full length release. Katy Guillen, Claire Adams & Stephanie Williams were finalist for the International Blues Competition in Memphis, and winners of the 2014 Pitch Music Award for Best Emerging Band. Katy Guillen & the Girls play an Album Release Show at Knuckleheads on Saturday, September 6, and on the following evening, September 7, they’ll perform an acoustic benefit performance for 90.1 FM, in the Gospel Lounge, at Knuckleheads.
