At 10:15 Valarie Vogel joins us to discuss Byron Case, a KC native who has spent the last 13 years in prison, for a murder that Byron and his family say he did not commit. Valarie will share information about Byron’s first book, THE PARIAH’S SYNTAX, Notes From An Innocent Man, published by Red Bat Books. Byron’s work has appeared in magazines and literary journals as well as best selling anthologies, Requiem for a Paper Bag (Fireside, 2009) and The Moment (Harper Perennial, 2012). At 10:30 Mark talks with members of the KC based band, The Lucky. Camilla Camille, Iason Mac Ai, and Calandra René will tell us about about their first full-length album, Swimming Invisible, and The Lucky’s CD release party, Friday, May 23 at 9:00pm, at the recordBar, 1020 Westport Rd, Kansas City, Missouri, with NowHere, and Sextonic Plates.

Sherman is supervisor of The Vinyl Underground at 7th Heaven on Troost, 7621 Troost Ave. He is owner of The Vinyl Market, open 1st Friday weekends at Pentimento Antiques & Art, 1324 W 12th. Sherman is a life-long record collector and live-music addict.
