Mark welcomes Marion Merritt, of Records With Merritt, who joins us as “Guest Producer” to share sonic discoveries and information from her musically-encyclopedic-brain. At 11:30 Mark talks with KC based singer songwriter Scott Hrabko about his new album Summer, from Scott Hrabko & The Rabbits, to be released June 23. This is his third full length release and follow up to, Biscuits and Gravity, from 2015. The new album features Scott Hrabko on vocals & guitar; Marco Pascolini on pedal steel, lap steel, & baritone guitar; Fred Wickham on lead guitar; Josh Arnold on bass & vocals; and Tim Higgins on drums, with guest artists: Brett Hodges on fiddle, Havilah Bruders on vocals, Dan Bliss on guitar, Mikal Shapiro on vocals, Chad Brothers on guitar & vocals, Brent Colliver on piano & acordian, and Kevin Dolan on mandolin. Recorded in part and mixed in full by Paul Malinowski at Massive Sound. Scott Hrabko has played with KC’s oldest garage band, The Original Sinners, and the 1980s bands: The Splinters, and The Andersons. In the early 1990s he performed as a solo artist in open mic nights with Iris Dement and Howard Eisberg. Scott Hrabko’s 2014 critically acclaimed solo release, “Gone Places” was said to be 30 years in the making. Scott Hrabko & The Rabbits play a CD Release Show for Summer, Friday, June 23 at 7:00 PM at The Brick.
