What’s that sound? Stan Slaughter!

Stan Slaughter is Kansas City’s own Eco-Troubadour. Today he entertains the troops with a recount about his songs for a sustainable environment.  Stan is also an internationally famous expert on the process called composting, a process that recycles various organic materials that would otherwise be waste products. Stan turns organic matter into garden gold and he can tell us how. The KKFI Pledge Drive is happening this week and our entire cadre will be on air. We hope all listeners will call.

Save lastKCforest asks us to attend the Forest Re-Zoning Meeting Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 9 AM – 12 PM Kansas City – City Hall, 26th floor, Council Chamber

Since the Line Creek Forest is not zoned to accommodate a large high school (it’s zoned for agriculture), the Park Hill School District must first get approval from the City Plan Commission before proceeding with construction.

The school district recently submitted a Special Use Permit to the KC Plan Commission for approval, which will be considered on Oct. 16.

All are welcome! And there is no minimum time or number for public comments.

If the Special Use Permit is approved, then the school will be able to continue their development plans. Currently these plans do not include ANY conservation plan for ANY part of their forest acreage.   lastkcforest.com
