Who Was Ryan Stokes and Why Did The KCMO Police Kill Him?

It has been almost three years since Ryan Stokes was shot and killed by a KCMO Police officer. The officer said that he had seen Ryan with a gun and had shot him when Ryan turned toward other officers. A Grand Jury cleared the officer and said it was a justified shooting. The problem was that when Ryan was rolled over by the officers after being shot, the only thing he had in his hands were car keys and a flip phone.

Today host Jeff Humfeld talks with Ryans’s Mother Narene, Sister Chrystal, Cousin Monie and Best Friend Lover about who Ryan was, what he meant to his family, friends and community. We attempt to put a face on Ryan Stokesand dispel the press and police characterizations of him. We find out who Ryan was growing up, the kind of person he was with friends and family as well as out in the community.

Then in the second half of our broadcast host Keith Brown El, speaks with Attorney Cyndy Short, Ryan’s Mother Narene and best friend Lover about the night Ryan was killed. They will talk about the questions that still linger and what they feel is needed to get justice for Ryan.
