More New & MidCoastal Releases + Red Kate & Stiff Middle Fingers Split Single + Guest Producer Nico Gray
Mark plays more New & MidCoastal releases from: Red Kate, Stiff Middle Fingers, Jametatone, Slights, The Sleazebeats, Calvin Arsenia, Kristie Stremel, Cloud Nothings, and Jen Appell.
At 10:30 members of the bands Red Kate and Stiff Middle Fingers join us to share details about their split-single record release at Davey’s Uptown Ramblers Club, Friday, April 7, at 9:00 pm, with The Naked Fingers, Lo Pan’s Revenge, Emmaline Twist, and Wick & The Tricks. Fresh off the release of their sophomore LP, unamerican activities, Kansas City based punk rock 4-piece band, Red Kate are back with a split 7” record with Lawrence punks, Stiff Middle Fingers. This record marks the debut of Stiff Middle Fingers on vinyl and is the second release on Kansas City’s coop record label, Black Site. Red Kate recorded their new music at Weights & Measures Soundlab, with engineer Duane Trower. Stiff Middle Fingers recorded their cow-punk burners at Rundown Studios in Topeka, KS, which is owned and operated by their drummer, George the Valiant. More information at: www.redkate.bandcamp.com
At 11:00 Nico Gray, joins us as “Guest Producer”. Nico is a former theatre actor, performance artist, writer, and is currently a marketing and advertising consultant. Nico will spin music from: Radiohead, Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, Line Renaud, Kid Francescoli, Heart, Elton Motello, The Plugz, Time Zone, Aloe Blacc, Amanda Shires, and Quincy Jones.
