Y2Y Sexual Health Education

The German World Population Fund (DSW) supports youth peer education on sexual health in several African countries. In Kenya, this included a pageant to crown a Mr. and Miss Y2Y. Voices from the pageant in this program include the reigning Miss Youth to Youth, Maureen Chogom, who describes the uses of the menstrual cup; youth organizer and contestant Jackline Waweru, from Safe Community Youth Initiative in Kilifi County, describing youth outreach, club formation, and interventions with government; Juliana Mwaega, the officer in charge of Y2Y programs in Kenya; the new Miss Y2Y, Rose Akinyi, describing the bra she made out of condoms and more; the first-ever Mr. Y2Y Michael Mgendi; and youth organizer Maimuna Siraj, who works with PAD A DADA Initiative and describes their work to develop practical youth-friendly services and reach youths, families, and government.
