The Zuni Mountain Boys are an Americana duo based out of Brooklyn, NY. Connor McGinnis and Matt Campbell formed the group in early 2014. They recorded their first EP in East Nashville in late May over two days. The five song EP consists predominantly of two acoustic guitars, and two part harmonies with Connor singing the leads, and Matt accompanying. Dobro and piano are the only other accents on the recording, leaving the sound spare, with little more than is necessary to deliver the song. The lyrics hesitate to dip into the abstract, and instead paint the sound with ordinary images that allow the listener to arrive at something larger on their own.
