Junebug

I’ve been involved with the KC blues scene since 1988, also as a Blues Society member, volunteer and board member in the 1990’s.  I began volunteering at 90.1 FM KKFI in 1996 and started The Blues Kitchen program Labor Day weekend of 1999.  It’s been a great experience promoting this unsung genre of music which is the basis for most modern music.  The show is from 8-11am each Saturday morning with local, regional, national and even international artist.  Hear these artists on “The Kitchen” before you go out and spend your hard earned money on their music.
I give you a preview of the blues shows, concerts and festivals. I personally go to many festivals and shows across the country in order to stay in top of the new bands and artist making waves.  But don’t forget, I play the older artist as well ,with history lessons sprinkled in.  The Blues Kitchen is the rock of community radio and we roll on each and every Saturday morning.  Remember, Junebug will spin both great tunes and crazy stories to keep you entertained as I head to my 23rd year on left side of the dial.
