All My Friends Headlined a Night of Tributes at Record Bar

Back on Oct 30, All My Friends (members of Noise FM and Bonzo Madrid) headlined the night of tribute acts at Record Bar covering LCD Soundsystem.  Opening the show were Tim and Luke (aka the fat kids from Me Like Bees) as the Wide Stripes.  The members of Roman Numerals held the middle slot with a tribute to Joy Division.

We’ve got audio of basically the entire show so have a listen and browse the images below:

Middle of the Map Festival Day 4

Well after way too long of a delay, here is the last installment of this year’s Middle of the Map Festival.  We’ve been incredibly busy with home projects, wedding planning and family.  It’s been an incredibly busy couple of months so the blog has been neglected.  We thought you should know.

On the final day of the festival, we caught a whole bunch of performances.  We took hundreds of images, hours of audio and saw everything we possibly could see.

The day started off with Kangaroo Knife Fight.

After Kangaroo Knife Fight, it was across the street to Westport Saloon for Not A Planet.

Between sets on the Patio, we caught the New Riddim warming up the ska tip for the legendary Slackers that would close out the festival at the Riot Room.

Archie Powell, The Noise FM and Me Like Bees at Record Bar

Recently at Record Bar, Me Like Bees returned from an unplugged East Coast stint before heading down to SXSW with the Noise FM and Archie Powell and the Exports.  Each band provided a set of blistering rock tunes.

We got all kinds of stuff for your eyes and earholes so let’s get started:

Crossroads Music Fest 2014

Not a Planet performing at CMFKC 2014

Not a Planet performing at CMFKC 2014

Crossroads Music Festival 2014 edition is in the books.  It was a fantastic night of music at several venues throughout the popular neighborhood known for art studios, music venues and trendy living.  Featuring around 40 bands and performers, the festival covered nearly any genre of music this town has to offer from country to hip-hop to rock and folk.  It was a truly diverse group of performers and a great sendoff to our unseasonably cool summer.  We made it out to the Money Wolf showcases, Not A Planet, Me Like Bees, Bacon Shoe, Mark Lowery and Drums, Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, and Noise FM.  I’m probably forgetting someone in that list because this was a two day marathon editing session. I do clearly recall seeing drunk people eating bacon off the floor of the Brick. Other than that, my brain is fried.
